I used to own a retail store, and when I did, I chatted with David every week of the year just about! He’s got a magnetic personality that’s so fun to be around — he’s so full of life and personality, I just love him! He’s also been very helpful whenever I had any questions about seasonal availability or even the mechanics of new things I wasn’t sure about. It’s hard finding help in the floral design industry, so David has been SOO helpful to me! Now, let’s get down to what makes David a unique offering for the conference!

David Powers AIFD has 33 years of floral experience. In that time he has designed, managed, owned and free-lanced for a variety of flower shops and floral businesses. David was inducted into The American Institute of Floral Designers (AIFD) over 20 years ago and has remained an active participant in that organization because he understands the importance of continued education and expansive knowledge for ongoing success.

He has a wide spectrum of experience within the floral industry including designing florals for the annual Teleflora Unit President’s meeting and working closely with Teleflora on photo shoots. In addition David has been a part of designing flowers for the tournament of roses parade floats “Fiesta Parade Floats” and has been contracted to be on the floral design team for the Oscars.

David currently works for Potomac Floral Wholesale in Silver Spring MD. He has been there for over 7 years and loves the excitement and satisfaction of finding and procuring flowers, which are shipped-in from all over the world for his clients.

David is looking forward to sharing his design talents through the use of natural products – with the occasional use of a man-made element for pizazz. His specialty is interpretive natural garden design. And, he loves to use the unexpected elements in nature to his designs.

I can’t wait for you to meet David!

  1. Rachel says:

Ah! I met David when I was picking up florals for a clients wedding in July, he is the sole reason I created an account with PFW! I can’t wait to get more into the floral side of things for my business and clients!
