I’m super excited about having Lauren & Rachel of Sweet Root Village (from Alexandria Virginia) with us for the conference in August! They bring a unique skill set to the mix and I’m also super excited to learn from them myself! To get a glimpse at what you’ll be learning from them as a guest at the conference, I’ve asked them to share a little with you… now from Rachel & Lauren!!…
“We will be demonstrating a gathered compote design using non-foam mechanics! Our design style is pretty flexible based on the inspiration we gain from each individual client but we do love lush, garden styles!
We were two friends with various artistic backgrounds that decided to start a wedding photography and floral design business together. We never expected that what we were doing would become a full time job for both of us and that we would be where we are now! Our studio does around 100 weddings and events each year between the two of us owners, our two amazing employees, and a hard working group of onsite design staff on the weekends! We love taking on new and exciting ventures and getting creative with others in the wedding industry!
We are absolutely inspired by nature. We love the chances we get to do a little foraging, most of which takes place in the back alleys of Old Town Alexandria!! Something truly beautiful can be created around the unexpected shape of a twisting ivy branch. We are also heavily inspired by textiles and found objects. Gorgeous wedding gowns, beautiful vases, linens and glassware, etc. Every event is a collaboration and we love seeing what we can bring to accent and compliment what every other talented vendor is contributing!”
