hosted by Amanda Veronee

Learn to create gorgeous bouquets, boutonnieres, corsages, centerpieces and large structural ceremony designs with a hands on workshop with Amanda. Learn all the ‘behind-the-scenes’ floral design techniques and skills used by Anthomanic to create a wedding from start to finish!

The Workshop Happenings:

The first day of the workshop will cover everything on the ‘behind the scenes’ of wedding and event floral design and planning: the business aspects of pricing and proposal, the planning phase and the final floral prep work that happens on the week of the wedding. A light breakfast and morning beverages will be provided at the beginning of the day. We will progress through the day by going over client contact & providing a proposal for your floral pricing, as well as seasonality of flowers and planning for fluctuating seasonal pricing. We will discuss methods of pricing and where to source your products. After a lunch in the studio, we will gets some hands on experience with the flowers, creating a bridal bouquet, a corsage and boutonniere, one grand centerpiece and one low centerpiece. We will also discuss floral preparation, care & handling.

The second day of the workshop will cover finalizing and executing an event/wedding. This will be done on location at a local wedding venue, Stevenson Ridge (please note, it is in a different county than our studio). We will setup all the designs that were made the day prior into a ceremony and reception setting where they will be setup with coordinating linens and other event pieces into a styled shoot photographed by a professional wedding photographer in hopes of a possible wedding blog publication. A lunch will be provided during the middle of the day.

No question or design technique is off-limits, please come ready to learn and ready to share your thoughts, questions, or business concerns! I hope this is a collaborate and intimate group, and small enough for attention to each attendee.

Who:

Amanda Veronee, wedding and event floral designer, will be with you the entire process answering all questions and guiding you through the design process. Amanda began her business at-home as a basement wedding floral designer, later opening a traditional retail flower shop offering wire service orders, everyday, funeral and wedding designs. Now, Amanda operates an event floral & design business with a brick and mortar studio (what once was the retail space), with an average of fifty five weddings per year. She has a total of twelve years of experience in many different floral settings (grocery store, home-based, standard retail / wedding, etc.) and with many different floral designers, and would love to share any advice she can to help you grow your new business! This class is best suited for newer wedding floral designers. Basic/foundation techniques will be taught, but we will incorporate some more advanced techniques and methods as needed.

What:

The class fee covers all the florals used, construction materials and design products you will need to learn how to design the pieces we will create (and take home the bouquet, boutonnieres, and centerpieces if you like!) as well as Amanda’s time & knowledge! :) A private one-hour, one-on-one chat is also available to those that have additional questions after the workshop. Beverages will be provided throughout the day on day one. Day one and two a light breakfast and lunch will also be provided on location. No questions are off-limits! I will however, not advise on taxes and accounting, but will review standard methods of floral pricing & information. You will be provided with images from the shoot to share on your website and social media pages. A notebook and pens will be provided so you can record what you learn!
